'TAIL & TWIST ARE SENDING AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE WITH THEIR ECO-DISCO'

Tail & Twist are a bunch of UK-based passionate party throwers, who love disco & house music. Since they started up in late 2016, they have consistently delivered sensational parties which provide a platform for dancers to move and groove to records mixed by both seasoned and up-and-coming selectors. As well as being a guaranteed night to remember full of disco, love, and dancing; their events represent something more than just the drive to put on a great party. T&T have a commendable environmental focus and have continuously raised awareness about the danger of plastic waste to our planet by committing to forging a future of no single use plastics. ‘No plastic straws or cups’ has been a staple policy at their recent events, and they have now planned to go one step further. 

THE ECODISCO
On the 22nd of June, T&T will be responsible for a powerful and pivotal moment in clubbing history. Their EcoDisco Summer Launch Party at Oval Space will be London’s FIRST ever club night to remove all single use plastics. This will be achieved by an explosion of free, biodegradable plant-based glitter, re-usable steel cups, straws constructed by Biofase from waste avocado seeds, and fully biodegradable water bottles provided by non-profit charity Life Water, who donate all proceeds to funding clean water projects across the globe! If that wasn’t enough, T&T have also committed to carbon offsetting the travel for each artist. 

IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING THE ECODISCO
The re-usable steel cups will be dished out to disco dancers upon entry, along with holders that can be hung around the neck. This means all dudes and divas in attendance can throw their hands in the air without a care for their cup, as it will be resting in a safe, comfortable place, ready to be refilled. There will be a £2 deposit which will be returned in exchange for the cup at the end of the night. Alternatively, you can keep the £2 and add a shiny Tail & Twist cup to your kitchen cupboard collection... 


THE SUBLIME SELECTORS
This is T&T’s biggest event yet, and they really are going all out for this occasion. The line-up is equally impressive and commendable as the eco-friendly focus. Bill Brewster, Kon, Marcel Vogel, and Rahaan are each capable of headlining an event like this all by themselves. At the EcoDisco, we will be lucky enough to see all of them playing on the same night. Here are their back stories… 

Bill Brewster: Mr Brewster has become somewhat of a legendary figure in the music industry. He is the author of the iconic Last Night a DJ Saved My Life and has contributed his encyclopaedic knowledge to pretty much every dance mag/novel/journal there is. His knowledge and passion for music shines through in his eclectic DJ sets consisting of funky underground house, dubby disco, funk, hip-hop and a whole load of more surprises. 


 Kon: Digger since the 70s, spinner since 91, and king of the re-edit since forever. Kon is another passionate music lover who uses his deep knowledge of rare gem records to spread happiness on dancefloors around the globe. The vast musical knowledge he possesses has resulted in him creating some of the most wonderful edits and remixes you will ever have the pleasure of listening to. His particularly impressive NiteTime remixes combine sun-kissed slick party beats with influential disco rhythms. He is very well-respected amongst the dance music community and is one of the best disco/funk/soul DJ/remixers in the world right now. 

 Marcel Vogel: Marcel is a German DJ and producer, who’s larger than life passion for house and disco is reflected through his persistent work and impeccable taste as the label boss at two seminal outlets for soulful sounds — Lumberjacks in Hell and Intimate Friends. He regularly hosts parties around the best clubs in Europe which showcase his favourable raw, soulful disco sounds engineered to create maximum energy in the room. 

 Rahaan: Completing the roster is Rahaan Young who grew up DJing in house parties on the underground circuit of Chicago (the birthplace of house music). Having soaked up the sounds of original Chicago house from the likes of Ron Hardy and Lee Collins, and also playing nu-disco, and contemporary funk & soul reworks, he is the bridge between the old and contemporary selector. 


T&T are sending an important message with their EcoDisco: party hard and save the planet (so we can continue to party hard). This message should be taken on board by all party people around the world. Get involved, support the cause, and have a boogie. There really is no excuse not to!

Disco never intended to grow old and fizzle out, and it has endured over many years with sturdy resistance. 'HISTORY OF DISCO FESTIVAL @ OVAL SPACE' (12/8/17)

Fever 105’s ‘Summer of Love Disco Festival’ back in June was a special night for everyone that attended, as the disco spirit funked each individual’s soul; helping them to groove the night away. Due to the large success, huge anticipation and excitement loomed as they announced their next summer event – ‘The History of Disco Festival’. If the name and description of the event ‘a super groovy showdown of everything disco’ didn’t excite one enough, the fact that Fever 105 announced the headliner on the night to be hacienda disco legend – Greg Wilson sent interest through the roof, as they completely sold out Oval Space once again.
