'HORSE MEAT DISCO @ PATTERNS' (22/4/17)

On Saturday the 22nd of April, Horse Meat Disco headed back down the South of England for another unforgettable evening for their much anticipated popular residency night at Patterns; a fantastic little venue which hosts a wide range of wild parties, hosted by some of the most talented  DJs around. There are two floors, the top is mainly a bar where you can chill out and go out into the smoking area, however there is also a dance floor and a variety of local to well known DJs play more chilled out tunes here, which still bring great vibes.

J-Felix is a popular support DJ often seen here, and was supporting on the night. Horse Meat Disco were situated downstairs in the basement, a great environment for a good time. This area is dark and intimate, with many flashing neon lights and a couple of magnificent disco balls to add to the perfect environment for dancing and having a good time; it was of course packed out with all kinds of different people. In this intimate venue you can get very close to the DJs and they appeared to be loving it as much as the crowd, having a great time and enjoying the tunes they were playing. There was a feel-good atmosphere, as there always is at Patterns.

Events like this attract both the young and the old clubbers, as the music originated in the 1970's, but is still well recognised and enjoyed by lots of young people who recognise the disco sound as something special. The set started with fast paced disco music from the time I got in there at about midnight all the way through until 4am. Horse Meat Disco set out to provide a wild party wherever they play and to keep you in the mood for grooving all night long, they certainly provided this vibe on the night. The disco masters behind the decks were playing a variety of tunes ranging from nu disco and remixes provided by artists such as Midnight Magic and Crazy P all the way through to old classics by artists such as Gwen McCrae and Bobby Thurston. There were only good vibes in the ever increasing sweaty basement, people had travelled from a far to dance to the disco.

When you combine great music artists with a feel-good atmosphere in a basement in Brighton, then it will always be a night to remember. This was my third time at patterns and coincidentally my third time seeing Horse Meat Disco and both just get better every time. I thoroughly recommend you catch Horse Meat Disco somewhere this summer or even better get tickets for their next residency night at Patterns.
